Bengals Hint at Unveiling Alternative Helmet

Concept photo of new helmet (edited)

The NFL, or as some people call it, the “No Fun League,” announced last year that teams would be allowed to have one alternative helmet starting in 2022. Of course, Bengals fans haven’t needed anything other than watching the most exciting team in the NFL to have fun. Still, everyone likes a little bit of flashiness in what their team wears on the field.

Safety was always the reason for only allowing one helmet. The thought process was that it was safer for a player to be fitted for one helmet only rather than swapping headgear, even if it wasn’t frequently.

In the Twitterverse, fans have debated between the throwback orange helmets and the white tiger helmets with a majority favoring the white tiger look. And today, they (and I) got exactly what they wanted. Kinda. No helmets were shown but the Bengals announced a “White Bengal” design is on its way.

You know what they say – look good, feel good, play good. The Bengals will certainly look good in these.
