Joey Votto Heads to the Injured List

Six time Reds All-Star Joey Votto is headed to the injured list just three weeks ahead of 2021 Opening Day as he has been diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus per the Reds organization. The Reds will need Votto to bounce back in a big way this season after an awful 2020 campaign where he held a slash line of .226/.354/.446. The 36 year old Votto has looked good so far this spring totaling 4 games and going 4 for 9 at the plate overall. He will be out for the next 10 days and will almost certainly be ready for Opening Day. We wish him a speedy recovery.
